Site name: Brugger Alm (WP66)
Municipality: Kartitsch
Altitude: 2090 m.a.s.l.
Coordinates (WGS84):
X: 46.683946
Y: 012.546455
Chronology: Mesolithic (?)
Type of site: Open air site
Archeological investigations: Several test-pits in the course of the 2022 surveys, including flint and charcoal finds on a small hilltop near a bog.
Short description: Located 350 m above the "Troja Alpl" site on a gentle hilltop, a total of six silices were found in two test-pits. In this context, the location of the site on a 200 m2 bog is interesting, in which very large pieces of wood can still be found at a depth of 1.5 metres. In this instance, a seasonally used prehistoric open-air station is also to be expected.
Place of conservation of the finds: Municipality of Sillian/Kartitsch/Obertilliach/Untertilliach (not yet handed over)
